FAQ

To ensure your experience with us matches your expectations we have answered some of the common questions we get asked. If you have any queries after reading these please call or email the clinic.

  • Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist? No, a GP referral is not required for appointments but private fees will apply. Referrals are required to access our services through Department of Veteran Affairs, TAC, WorkSafe and Medicare (for those patients who qualify for a Chronic Disease Management Plan). TAC and Worksafe patients will be expected to pay for their appointment and then seek reimbursement from your compensable body.
  • How do I qualify for a Chronic Disease Management Plan? Individuals who suffer from a chronic health condition are eligible for five, Medicare subsidised, podiatry visits per year. As we are a private clinic there will be an out-of-pocket cost to attend our practice. For further information please chat to our reception staff
  • What do I do/bring for my appointment? We recommend you wear clothing that will allow easy assessment of the injured area and bring a collection of your shoes and your orthotics, if relevant, so we can assess their wear patterns and your gait. We also suggest you bring along any previous scans (xrays, MRI etc) and relevant reports that could assist in the management of your issue. To aid in the efficient running of the clinic we would appreciate you arrive 10 minutes before your first appointment to complete our paperwork.
  • Can I use my Private Health insurance for my appointment? Yes, if you have Private Health insurance with extras for Podiatry we can claim your rebate on the spot using our HICAPs machine; this means you only need to pay the balance. For this to be possible you need to have your card with you, otherwise you will need to claim the rebate yourself. You will also need to have not exhausted all of your extras; to check what your limits are, contact your health fund.
